Christine Schwarzer, born in Copenhagen in 1970, is one of the new young talents on the Scandinavian design scene. She is educated as a furniture and industrial designer at the Danish Design School and University of Art & Design in Helsinki. After graduating from the Danish Design School in 1999 she has been working from her studio in Copenhagen with furniture and product design. Strong international attention was achieved from her sofa concept PolsterGeist, produced by Blå Station. In 2001 Schwartzer went to Vietnam, together with her husband and six months old son, to
work for a Danish furniture company. After one year in the hectic Ho Chi Minh
City she decided to go back to Denmark where she established her own design
studio. Schwarzer has participated in several exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden, Italy,
Germany and the Netherlands.
